Commercial Multiengine Pilot & FounderPrior to founding Shirley, Alex led flight simulation at BETA Technologies and Merlin Labs. He studied aerospace engineering and CS at MIT, receiving his undergraduate and Master's degrees while earning his pilot's license.
Jo Booth
Founding EngineerJo studied CS at Harvard, followed by work at Twitter and Google. He's leading our open-source and data efforts, joining Airplane Team by way of HumanSignal, where he was Staff Engineer.
Roxy Freeberg
Student Pilot & Team MemberRoxy conducted Search and Rescue operations in coordination with the US Coast Guard. With a background in cognitive and computer science, Roxy has performed red teaming for Anthropic's invite-only bug bounty programs. She now executes our AI model improvement efforts.
Vale Rasmussen
Private Pilot & InternVale is a private pilot and Aero/Astro Engineering student at Stanford University. With prior experience in flight simulation and instruction, Vale assists with development and testing of Shirley's pilot training scenarios.
